CANYONS BLOWS THE LIGHTS OUT AT THE COOKIE MEET
Canyons continues to break new ground as the first of our three part fall intersquad meet series hit the water at our COC pool with 109 swimmers. Perhaps the best number was 75 as in 75 swimmers who had never competed for Canyons or as part of a USA club team before! Despite a blackout (which did NOT stop the meet) the event was an outstanding success thanks to the swimmers, their parents and the Canyons volunteers, many of whom took time off from work to help our newest and someday to be, best, learn what it feels like to swim in a real meet. Canyons thanks for Coastal Officials who were extremely patient with our new class of fresh faces and our coaches, Vicky, Gina, Grace and Guido who got our kids pumped up and ready to go. The brainchild of Coach Jay, the Blue and Gold series takes to the pool again on Saturday the 28th of October for the Blue and Gold Pumpkin meet (time TBA).
Heat winners were given a cookie from Lady Di's cookies located on the Old Road in the Alberstons Shopping plaza. High Point winners were gives a huge super cookie. High point winners included:
