CANYONS OPENS THE SEASON AT SIMI

Canyons swimmers returned to long course competition at the CSA Long Course Season opener. A dramatic change from the 25 yard pools they've been in since September, the kids from the Canyons made a strong splash as team and personal records fell like dominos.

ANTONIUK AND HWANG BREAK MORE TEAM RECORDS

No meet seems to go by lately without a team record falling. This past weekend saw to more changes to the books. Bob Hwang rewrote his own 100 fly record (set last summer) with a 1:00.77. The time is an NRT and takes a few tenths off his time. Konrad Antoniuk, the distance kid, took out the 15 & Older 1500 team record. The record, set in 2005 by Kent Klawer, was a 17.21.44, but off a strong late swim, Konrad lowered the time to 17:18.74. This was not Konrad's personal record in this event (he has gone faster) but it is his first time as a 15 year old.
