CANYONS SWIMMERS PREPARE FOR THE LONG COURSE SEASON
8year old Tanner Olson continued to make his mark on the 8 & under record books recording 3 records this weekend at the CSA Long Course meet. Tanner captured the 50 Breaststroke record with a 44.91 swim breaking Alex Ngan's 2002 record of 46.08. Tanner then took out the 100 fly record with a 1:32.63 swim elipsing Riley Mita's 2002 record of 1:36.59. Tanner's final victim was himself as he broke his own team record in the 100 breaststroke (set at last summer's JO meet) with a 1:32.63 effort. Other results from the meet will be posted when we get them.
Augustina Hansen led the team dropping time in all 8 of her events. Tanner Olson and Phillip Wong dropped in 7 events while Rory Mita and Jennifer Wong dropped in all 6 events.
Alberto Armienta & Mik Ranslem, both new to their respective age groups, both hit SAGC times. Impressive time drops were recored by Tamara Santoyo, Sean Tucker, Lina Park, Jose Ovalle and Katie Huntington.
Asia Antoniuk picked up an SCSRT in the 50 Fly while Liza Kuznetsova picked up an SCSRT in 100 Back.
New JO times for Nicole Antoniuk, Maliah Grim, Matt Howard, Matt Johnson, Mitch Johnson, Liza Kuznetsova, Melvin Martinez, Nina Morrison, Tanner Olson, Tara Olson, Mik Ranslem, Karina Rodgers, Alyssa Schultz, Megan Schultz, Phillip Wong and Zach Grey who picked up his first ever JO time in the 1500.
New SAGC times were recorded for Joseph Ang, Alberto Armienta, Alex Cardia, Brittany Donowho, Augustina Hansen, Everett Howard, Katie Huntington, Kirsten Justice, Melvin Martinez, Tanner Olson, Mik Ranslem, Megan Schultz, Kian Taylor, Bryanna Waage and Phillip Wong.
