The California/Nevada Sectionals came to a conclusion, Sunday at Mission Viejo with several impressive Canyons swims including 3 team records. Due to the Olympic year, the meet was a long course event (this is normally the end of the short course season) and several Canyons swimmers resumed right where they left off in August. Breaking records at this meet where Jordan Danny who took out Renee Viveros's 2004, 15 & older, 200 IM record (2:26.48) with her 2:24.61 effort. KT Livingstone also took out a Viveros record as she flew to the 100 butterfly record of 1:04.78 breaking Renee's record 2003 of 1:04.87 set in 2003. Riley Mita broke his own 13-14 800 free record with an 8:52.95 effort.

DAY #1 REPORT

Konrad Antoniuk and Riley Mita started off the scoring with Konrand finishing 19th and Riley taking 24th in the 800 free.

DAY #2 REPORT

Jordan Danny let Canyons swimmers with her 5th place finish in the 200 breaststroke. Nolan Koon won the consolation final of the 200 free lowering his best to 53.58 while Konrad Antoniuk swam the 200 fly to a 15th place finish. Nick Korth worked his way to 22nd in the 200 breast picking up a 2:35.69 best time.

Nolan returned for more personal best swims in the 200 free where he finished second in the consolation final with a 1:56.70

DAY #4 REPORT

Saturday saw Jordan in her team record setting swim in the 200 IM (2:24.61) good enough for a second place finish in the bonus final (18th overall). Nolan picked up a 15th in the 50 free finals with Danny Colvin clocking in at 22nd. The men's 400 free relay of Nolan Koon, Nui Harris, Danny Colvin and Bob Hwang took 4th .

DAY #5 REPORT

Jordan Danny was in fine form finishing 2nd in the 100 breaststroke with a 1:12.63, her best at long course, earning her a US Open cut. Bob Hwang grabbed a bronze medal in the 100 fly with a strong 57.56 Junior National swim. Nolan Koon took 19th in the event. KT Livingstone had her team record breaking 100 fly en route to a bonus final win and 17th place points. Chelsea Griffiths won the consolation heat of the 100 back with a 1:06.16 effort. Nui Harris snuck in the bonus heat then exploded in the evening finals to win his heat with a 1:02.58, good enough for 17th place overall. Konrad Antoniuk took 11th in the 1500. While the meet heralded the start of the long course season, with five months to go before the long course championship meets, Canyon swimmers showed their readiness take on the 50 meter pools with championships and records in mind.
