SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA WINS ZONES WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM CANYONS
The Southern California Zone team, guided by our own Coach Jay, came away with their 4th consecutive victory at Fresno (8/8-8/12) and we're proud to say Canyons swimmers played a major role in that success.
Canyons sent Asher Garcia, Bob Hwang, Kearsten Livingstone, and the Morales twins, Adria and Allison.
Setting the pace for So Cal and Canyon was Bob Hwang who won the 200 Fly, finished second in the 200IM (NRT), 50 Free (NRT), 200 Fly (NRT) finished 3rd in the 200 free, and 4th in the 100 free (NRT) and 100 fly.
Kearsten Livingstone won the 200 fly in a personal record 2:23.54, just .09 off Jennifer Parmenter's team record of 2:23.45. KT then swam to 3rd in the 200 back, 5th in both the 100 fly and 100 back and 6th in the 200 IM.
Adria Morales picked up a gold medal in the 100 fly with a personal record 1:07.04 (NRT) as well as 4th in the 50 fly.
Asher Garcia opened the boys 200 Meter medley relay and 400 medley relay which both swam to silver plus an 8th place finish in the 200 free relay. Asher's personal record 50 back was especially impressive after coming back from illness just a few days earlier.
Allison Morales was the anchor on the 7th place 200 medley relay and picked up a bronze as part of the 400 freestyle relay.
Joining the group was Coach Mike of the Sr. Blue squad. Canyons congratulates our zone swimmers.
