About UsLocated in the beautiful Santa Clarita Valley, Canyons Aquatic Club is based out of College Of The Canyons. We train at six pool locations. We are proud to train swimmers from the novice level to Olympian and treat each of our athletes with the same belief each has unlimited potential. No matter if you're a competitive swimmer or just looking to get in shape, 4 years olds to 55+, Canyons has a lane for you.

Our History |
Founded in 1978, Canyons has grown into what is now one of the largest swim clubs in Southern California. The most notable alumni include Anthony Ervin, gold medalist in the 50 freestyle at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney and the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Abbey Weitzeil, she won a gold medal in the 4x100-meter medley relay for swimming in the preliminary heats and a silver medal in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She is the American record holder in the 50-yard freestyle and is part of the American Record in the 4x100-meter freestyle relay.
Canyons has over 500 members at various competitive levels, ranging from novice/introductory levels through to nationally ranked competitors. As of 2000 the Canyons Aquatic Club had produced a U.S. Olympic team alternate, four USA national titlists, two U.S. Olympic Festival selections and numerous high school All-Americans. In 2010 five of its swimmers qualified for the Conoco Phillips National Championships. In 2012, Canyons Aquatics sent seven swimmers to the United States Swimming Olympic Trials, the most in club history. The current head coach of the club is Kyle Hastings. Prior notable head coaches include Kevin Nielsen (2019-2022),Coley Stickels (2013-2017), Jeff Conwell (2005-2012), Bruce Patmos (1989-2005), Jennifer Salles-Cunha (~1987-1989), Steve Neale (~1985-1987), Steve Schomber (~1985), Fernando (~1984), and Jerry and Joe Walsh (~1978-1984) |
