Canyons Swim Team is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jimmy Rogers as the new Lead Coach at the Canyons South site. A highly respected and accomplished coach, Jimmy brings a wealth of experience and passion for nurturing young swimmers to reach their full potential. Jimmy's coaching journey showcases his commitment to developing swimmers at various levels. His most recent role as the Senior Elite Group Coach at Porter Valley Polar Bears in Northridge saw him establish a comprehensive training program for elite and Junior Olympic groups. He founded and coached a successful Summer League program, generating revenue and creating job opportunities for senior athletes. As the Head Swim Coach at Bishop Alemany High School, Jimmy led the varsity and junior varsity swim program, overseeing practice, swim meets, and administrative duties, including hiring assistant coaching staff. As Head Swim Coach at Rattler Swim Club in San Fernando, he provided a technique-driven and goal-oriented training program for youth swimmers, coached all training groups, and managed administrative responsibilities such as scheduling, pool contracts, and merchandising. As the Head Coach and CEO of Triton Swim & Triathlon Team, Jimmy developed training regimens for adults of varying skill levels, handled scheduling, contracts, advertising, and fundraising, and managed the organization's social media and website. He also founded the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Triton Swim & Triathlon Team (TSTT), serving on the Board of Directors. Jimmy's experience extends beyond local boundaries; he has served as a Swim Coach at PEAK Performance Swim Camp in Winter Park, FL, teaching essential swim techniques and leading dryland sessions during clinics and camps. Jimmy holds a Master of Science (M.S.) in Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge, where he conducted critical research on Post-activation Potentiation (PAP) in Sprint Swimming Performance. His dedication to academic excellence is further reflected in his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Environmental Biology from the same institution, where he consistently made the Dean's List. |
