Junior Olympic III |
Coach:
Location: Castaic Aquatic Center Time: Monday - Friday, 5:30 - 8:00 PM. Saturdays TBA weekly. Swimmers ages 13-14 can apply to join our JO III Group. Time standards achieved and previous attendance are weighed heavily in the acceptance process. The objective of all JO III workouts is to help the swimmers gain the skills necessary to be ready for our Senior groups and reach the Sectional, Junior National, and National level. The training methods and techniques used are similar to the Senior groups and designed to prepare you for the elite levels of swimming while still making fundamentals and versatility a priority. Move ups will be done in August, January, and April but can occur at any time. |

Location: Santa Clarita Aquatic Center Time: Monday - Friday, 5:30 - 8:00 PM. Saturdays TBA weekly. The Junior Olympic Gold Group is made up of 11-12 year olds who have achieved Junior Olympic Time Standards. This is the highest-level program Canyons offers for 11-12 year old swimmers. As such, a high level of commitment is required to join, and maintain your spot in this group. Swimmers are required to maintain 80% attendance year round. Attendance at scheduled swim meets is required with the rare exception. Championship meets are required with no exceptions. Athletes in this group must be highly motivated and ready to contribute in a team environment. Practice is designed to maintain fundamental skills while training at a level that will prepare the swimmers for our Senior program. More advanced start, stroke, and turn techniques are introduced. Core and strength building dryland is also included. |
