Admin Meet Info
Parking
*The front parking lot is for Coaches/Admin only. If it fills, coaches can park in the dirt across the street, or in the lot behind the pool facility.
*The attached parking passes are for the rear lot, for SATURDAY PRELIMS/FINALS ONLY. There will be an LA County Parking Attendant at the entrance to that lot checking parking passes. You will not be allowed entry if you don't show a pass! Passes are attached, and can be printed/displayed on your dash, or downloaded to your phone to show to the Parking Attendant. Friday PM and all day Sunday the rear lot will be open to the public and parking is first come, first serve. It is a good idea for all coaches to have parking passes for Saturday as well, in case the front lot and dirt area fills up.
*If you are parking in the dirt area across the street from the front parking lot, please DO NOT PARALLEL PARK. Parking head-in will allow many more cars to fit in that area.
Team Canopy Set Up
*There will be NO canopies allowed on deck, including Team canopies or family canopies. Canyons is providing coaches canopies on both sides of the pool.
*Team Canopies can be set up in the specified areas behind the pool facility, starting at 2pm on Friday. (See Facility Map for details). The pool deck will be closed until 2pm on Friday, and there will be no access to the pool until that time.
*The Team Canopy area is adjacent to a public park, and not in an area that can be secured by the facility. Any person visiting the park will have access to canopies. While public parks are closed overnight, please know that leaving your canopies overnight is at your own discretion. We are happy to store broken-down canopies on the gated deck for security overnight if you'd like.
Misc
*We will be having Speedo Hot Heats during Saturday and Sunday Prelims sessions!
*Hot Pickle Heats are also back! Tell your parent timers to get those quick pickle fingers ready!
*Warming tents will be provided on both sides of the pool for swimmers to stage in before their races. It is the swimmer's responsibility to monitor the progression of the meet if they are in a warming tent, and be behind the blocks in time for their race.
NEW INFORMATION FROM ADMIN
- Relays will be provide you on timer
- Teams will have the option to swim relays in the morning on Sunday
- ALL 5-10 relays will be in the AM
- Time trials will be provide your own timers
- 1000 free and 1650 free swimmers will have the option of swimming AM or PM, top 8 swimmers that choose PM will be swimming in finals.
- Location: Castaic Aquatic Park
- Warm-ups start: 3:00 PM Friday, 7:00 on Saturday/Sunday
- Meet Starts: 4:00 PM Friday, 8:30 AM Saturday/Sunday
- Sessions - We will be running a boys and girls course in prelims, we will be running a boys and girls course in finals.
- Warm-ups: Please be careful during warm-up as we will have both older and younger swimmers in the water at the same time. The larger teams have a separate session just for their 12 & under swimmers to alleviate some of the congestion. Other teams are welcome to have their younger swimmers join this warm-up as well. We will review how it went during the Saturday morning coaches meeting and can make adjustments for Sunday if needed.
- Timing Assignments - At cranberry I know many parents were frustrated with timing assignments on a course that their child did not swim on. Keeping this in mind teams with larger timing assignments have been split between both courses. Please look closely at both courses when setting up timing volunteers. FRIDAY WILL BE "PROVIDE YOUR OWN TIMERS"
- National Scratch Rule - Please make sure newer swimmers understand how this works. Swimmers have ONLY 30 minutes to scratch from finals once it is announced.
- DISTANCE POSITIVE CHECK-IN: Swimmers in the 1000 Free & 1650 Free must complete a positive check-in at admin.
- Scratches - Please communicate scratches to admin by email, text (805-504-5093) or in person by 3:30 on Friday and by 7:45 on Saturday/Sunday.
- Relays - 5-10 year old relays will be swum at the end of prelims. Teams can enter relays on deck by 10:30 AM. Relays at $10 each.
- Entry Limits - 8 entries total, 2 events Friday, 3 events Saturday, 3 events Sunday
- Time Trials - Time trials will be available for $20 each. These will run at the end of prelims. Swimmers entering time trials can not swim more than 3 events per day.
- Coaches Programs - A limited number of coaches programs will be printed on deck. Priority will be given to printing of documents that are needed to run the meet. A copy of the program will be emailed out each morning. (if I forget please remind me)
- Missing Registrations - If you received an email from me about registrations you have until Tuesday to have them corrected. A new registration report will be run on Wednesday and swimmers who are not registered will be scratched from the meet.
